1. Acceptance of Terms

By using NotchWise, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

2. Licence

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use NotchWise on macOS devices you own or control.

  • Free tier: Use NotchWise free, forever, with the limits on the pricing page (1 deck, 50 cards, SM-2 only).
  • Pro licence: A one-time purchase that unlocks all Pro features, including future updates to the current major version.

3. Restrictions

Please don't:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Redistribute, sublicence, or resell the app
  • Use the app for anything unlawful
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices

4. Intellectual property

NotchWise and its code, design, and branding are owned by ABS Projects and protected by intellectual property laws. Your flashcard content is yours. We don't claim any ownership over what you create or import.

5. Your content

You own everything you create or import into NotchWise. It's stored locally on your Mac. We don't access, view, or process it.

6. Third-party services

NotchWise can optionally connect to:

  • AnkiConnect: A third-party Anki plugin, governed by its own terms.
  • Anthropic Claude API: If you use AI card suggestions with your own API key, Anthropic's terms apply.

We're not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

NotchWise is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ABS Projects isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. This includes loss of data.

9. Refunds

Mac App Store purchases follow Apple's refund policy. For direct purchases, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Email support@notchwise.app.

10. Termination

If you breach these terms, we may revoke your licence immediately. You'd then need to stop using the app and delete all copies.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these terms. Changes will appear here with an updated date. Continuing to use NotchWise after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
